Thank you for joining us for our Spring Concert on May 1! It was an honor to see you all there. Keep an eye out for tickets for our Fall concert, which will be released soon.
Our Founding Director, John H. Smith, has retired after 30 years of dedication, development, leadership, hard work, and a feeling of much joy and accomplishment. John loves choral music, and generously devoted his time, talents, and experience to create, build, direct, and sustain our community choir from its inception in 1991. He contributed countless hours and dealt with many challenges to plant the Choral Society’s deep roots in the community and ensure its ongoing growth and success. Over the years John not only built an outstanding choir, but also brought hundreds of singers and musicians together for memorable performances and lasting friendships. John is, and always will be, beloved by our members and honored as our founder, educator, and friend. He continues to provide counsel and support as an advisor to our Board.
Introducing our new Director! Mr. Jason Martin, Choral Director for the Fort Zumwalt South High School, will lead us into the future as our new Director! Jason has been part of the chorus for many years. He is very familiar with our group and is ready to take the helm. Jason brings us terrific musical talent, experienced directorship, and his fun style and personality. He will continue the tradition of community singing and wonderful musical performances, and also bring a new perspective and energy. Visit our About Us page to learn more about Jason. We are extremely excited about the future of our choir and serving our community through the joy of singing!
We are currently rehearsing in the Fort Zumwalt South High School’s choir room with masks on and spread out to further protect our singers. The room has a large ceiling with good air recirculation. Visit our Contact Us page to let us know of any questions you may have about the space.
